Enshrouded is finally leaving Early Access. Version 1.0 of Keen Games’ survival RPG launches on October 15, more than two and a half years after the game first arrived on Steam in January 2024.
On the same day, Enshrouded also comes to PlayStation 5. Here’s what changes in the full release, what happens to your saves and how much the game costs now.
What’s New in Enshrouded 1.0
Keen Games hasn’t published the full patch notes yet, but it has already shown several key changes. The level cap rises from 45 to 50, and gear goes up to level 55. A new biome and a new enemy tier are on the way as well.
Magic gets a big update too. Nine new spells are coming, along with two skills that raise the summon cap and upgradeable Eternal spells. On top of that, Keen has previewed an auto-collect loot option, more character customisation and performance improvements for lower-end PCs.
What Happens to Your Saves
If you’ve played during Early Access, you don’t need to start from scratch. Fan guides report that PC worlds and characters carry over to 1.0. However, every character’s skill tree resets, so you’ll spend your points again.
It’s still a good idea to back up your save files before October 15, just in case.
Platforms and Release Dates
Enshrouded supports up to 16 players in co-op on PC. Here’s when each version arrives:
| Platform | Release |
|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | October 15, 2026 |
| PlayStation 5 | October 15, 2026 |
| Xbox Series X/S | Spring 2027 |
The PS5 version also supports PS5 Pro. Keen Games hasn’t announced cross-play between PC and console yet.
How Much Enshrouded Costs Now
Keen raised the price ahead of 1.0. Since September 8, Enshrouded costs €39.99 on Steam, €10 more than before. If you already own the game, you get the 1.0 update for free.
For new players, a Steam key is the cheaper route. The Enshrouded Steam key on TopGift currently costs less than the Steam store price, and it activates in your Steam library like any other game. For more ways to save, see our guide on how to buy Steam games cheaper.
Once the key is in your library, the game will update to 1.0 automatically on launch day.
