You paste the code, press Redeem, and Binance shows an error instead of your crypto. It’s frustrating, but a Binance gift card not working almost always comes down to one of a handful of causes, and most of them take a minute to fix.
This guide walks through every common redeem error, explains why it happens and shows you exactly what to do next.
Most redeem errors come from using the wrong code (the card number instead of the 16-character redemption code), a typo, an unverified Binance account or a card that already expired. Check those four first. If the code still fails, contact the seller with your order number and a screenshot.
Quick Check Before Anything Else
Before you dig into specific errors, run through these basics. Together, they solve the majority of failed redemptions.
The screenshot matters more than it seems. Each error message points to a different cause, so the exact wording helps you and the seller fix it fast.
Common Errors and What They Mean
Here is a quick overview of the problems people run into most often. Each one has its own section below.
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Code not recognised | Card number used, or a typo | Use the 16-character redemption code |
| Code already used | Someone redeemed it first | Contact the seller with proof |
| Card already added | You used Add Card earlier | Redeem it from your card history |
| Card expired | Created more than 6 months ago | Contact the seller |
| Redeem blocked | Account not verified | Finish identity verification |
| Not available | Restricted country | Check the Binance country list |
Wrong Code Type
A Binance Gift Card has two different numbers. One is the card number, which identifies the card. The other is the redemption code, which actually unlocks the crypto.
Only the redemption code works on the Redeem tab. It has 16 characters and mixes letters and digits, for example A1BC23D4EFG78H56. If you enter the card number instead, Binance won’t accept it.
On TopGift, this mix-up can’t happen, because we only send the redemption code. You’ll find it in your account and on the order confirmation page right after payment.
A Typo in the Code
Codes that mix letters and digits are easy to misread. For example, the letter O looks like a zero, and a capital I looks like the number 1.
So always copy and paste the code rather than typing it. In addition, check that no space slipped in at the start or the end, because some apps add one when you copy.

Code Already Redeemed
If Binance says the code was already used, someone redeemed it before you. In most cases, the owner shared it, posted a screenshot or sent it to a fake “support agent”.
ImportantA Binance Gift Card code works like cash. Never send it to anyone who contacts you, never post it in a chat or group, and only enter it on binance.com or in the official Binance app.
If you never shared the code, contact the seller right away. Include your order number and the screenshot of the error, so they can check the card’s status.
Card Already Added to Your Account
Binance lets you add a card to your account without redeeming it. However, once you add a card, the normal form won’t accept it a second time.
Instead, open your card history on the Binance Gift Card page and redeem it from there. Our guide to adding a Binance Gift Card to your account shows that screen step by step.
The Card Has Expired
According to Binance, gift cards created on or after April 10, 2024 expire six months after creation. Older cards have no expiry date.
If your card expired after you bought it, Binance can’t restore the value. On the other hand, if it was already expired at the moment of purchase, Binance advises contacting the seller. That’s why it’s worth redeeming a card soon after you buy it.
Your Binance Account Is Not Verified
Binance only lets accounts that meet its identity requirements redeem gift cards. If your verification is incomplete, the redeem step can fail even with a perfectly valid code.
To fix it, open your Binance profile and finish identity verification. Once Binance approves it, try the same code again.
Redemption Is Not Available in Your Country
Binance restricts gift card redemption in some countries. Its FAQ lists, among others, the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore and the Netherlands.
Binance.US is also a separate service, so a Binance Gift Card won’t redeem there. If you live in a restricted country, your account can’t redeem the card. Because these rules change, check the current list in the Binance FAQ before you buy.
You Redeemed It but Cannot See the Crypto
Sometimes the redemption works, yet the balance seems missing. Usually, the crypto simply landed in a different wallet than you expected.
Binance credits gift card redemptions to your Funding wallet. So open Wallet, then Funding, and you should find the coins there. From there, you can move them to Spot if you want to trade.

When to Contact the Seller
Only the seller can solve some problems. Contact the seller if the code shows as already used and you never shared it, or if it had already expired when you bought it.
When you write, include three things: your order number, the redemption code and a screenshot of the error. As a result, the seller can check the card status quickly instead of asking you for details first.
TopGift is an official Binance Gift Card merchant, and every code comes with a redeemability warranty. So if a code from us doesn’t work, our support team will help you sort it out.

The most common reasons are using the card number instead of the redemption code, a typo, an unverified account, an expired card or a restricted country.
What code do I enter to redeem a Binance Gift Card?
Enter the 16-character redemption code, which mixes letters and digits. The card number won’t work on the Redeem tab.
Do Binance Gift Cards expire?
