Kingdom Hearts Collection I-III launches today, October 8, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It brings the whole saga, from the first game to Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind, together in one package for $74.99.
For Switch 2 owners, this is the big news: the series finally runs natively on a Nintendo console instead of through the cloud. Here is what’s inside, what it costs and how to pick it up.
What’s in the Kingdom Hearts Collection
The collection combines three existing bundles. Together they cover every main story chapter released so far.
| Bundle | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX | Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Birth by Sleep Final Mix, plus the 358/2 Days and Re:coded story movies |
| Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue | Dream Drop Distance HD, 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- and the χ Back Cover movie |
| Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind | The latest main game with its Re Mind expansion |
Keep in mind that a few entries are movies rather than playable games. Also, each bundle starts from its own launcher, so you switch between them instead of using one shared menu.
Platforms and Price
The full collection costs $74.99 in the US. On the Xbox Store, each of the three bundles also sells separately for $39.99, so the complete set is clearly the better deal.
On Switch 2, the physical edition is a Game-Key Card. In other words, the box holds a key to the download rather than the full game, and you’ll need about 128 GB of free space. If you owned the old Switch cloud versions, you can carry your save data over.
On Xbox, the collection supports Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers both your console and Windows PC through the Microsoft Store. PS5 players get the same versions that were already available on PlayStation.
A Good Time to Catch Up
Square Enix has already confirmed that Kingdom Hearts IV is in development. As a result, this collection is the easiest way to play the full story before the next chapter arrives, especially if you’ve never finished it.
The first reviews of the Switch 2 version are positive. Most games run smoothly, although Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- shows some frame drops in its opening areas.
How to Buy It Without a Bank Card
You can pay for the collection with money in your console wallet. On PS5, a PlayStation Store gift card covers it. On Xbox, top up your account with an Xbox gift card, and on Switch 2 use a Nintendo eShop card.
Just make sure the card matches the region of your account, otherwise the code won’t redeem. Our guide to PSN gift card regions shows how to check yours.
