Apple Pro and Tell October 28: Touchscreen Mac and More

Apple's Pro and Tell launch is set for October 28. See the expected touchscreen MacBook Pro, OLED iPad mini and M6 Macs, plus when they could go on sale.

Apple Pro and Tell launch on October 28

Apple has a busy week ahead. The company will reveal new products on Wednesday, October 28, under the tagline Apple Pro and Tell. This time, there’s no big live keynote. Instead, Apple will share the news through press releases, while a group of journalists gets hands-on time in Los Angeles.

Apple hasn’t named the Apple Pro and Tell products yet. However, reliable reports point to the first Mac with a touchscreen, an OLED iPad mini and new M6 models.

What Apple Is Expected to Launch

The headline product is a redesigned MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen. It’s expected to be lighter and slightly thinner, with a Dynamic Island instead of the notch. It should use the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips and sit above the current MacBook Pro models, at a higher price.

Apple is also expected to update its more affordable models. A 14-inch MacBook Pro and the 24-inch iMac could both move to the new M6 chip, without big design changes.

A New iPad Mini With OLED

The iPad mini could get its biggest update in years. Reports point to an OLED display, which would be a first for an iPad outside the Pro line. It may also get the A20 Pro chip, a front camera on the long side and better water resistance.

That upgrade may come at a price, though. Some reports expect the new iPad mini to cost around $200 more than the current $599 model.

Good to knowApple hasn’t confirmed any of these products or prices yet. The final line-up could change on October 28.

When You Could Buy Them

If Apple follows its usual pattern, pre-orders for the Apple Pro and Tell products could open on October 28, right after the announcement. The first devices could then reach customers as early as November 6.

Using an Apple Gift Card

An Apple gift card adds money to your Apple Account balance. You can use it for apps, games, iCloud+ and Apple Music, and depending on your country, also for purchases from Apple. That makes it a simple way to set aside money for new apps on a new Mac or iPad, without a bank card.
