Steam’s yearly Halloween sale is almost here. Steam Scream Fest V runs from October 26 to November 2, 2026, and brings a week of discounts on horror games and Halloween-themed titles.
Valve has already confirmed the dates in its official events calendar. Here’s when it starts, what kind of deals to expect and which Steam sales come next.
At a glance
What to Expect From Scream Fest
The fifth Scream Fest focuses on horror games and explicitly Halloween-themed titles. Exact discounts aren’t public yet, since publishers set their own prices, but past editions cut prices on survival horror, co-op ghost hunts and story-driven thrillers.
As usual, the sale should start at 10 a.m. Pacific time, which is 18:00 in Central Europe once the clocks change on October 25. Most Steam events also come with a themed page, curated lists and sometimes free stickers or profile items.
Before it starts, it’s worth adding horror games to your wishlist. That way, Steam emails you as soon as one of them drops in price.

Getting Your Steam Wallet Ready
If you plan to buy during the sale, topping up your Steam Wallet before it starts saves time at checkout. A Steam gift card adds funds without a bank card, and Steam converts the value into your wallet currency automatically.
For a couple of horror games on sale, a 20 EUR or 20 USD card usually covers it. If you’re also planning ahead for the Winter Sale, a bigger card lets you keep a balance ready.
